This is a key leadership role responsible for setting direction, providing assurance, and embedding consistent, compliant practices across a complex, multi-service environment.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services & Governance, you will lead the organisation’s risk and compliance function, ensuring robust frameworks, systems, and governance practices are in place. You will work closely with leaders across the business to enable informed decision-making, manage risk exposure, and drive continuous improvement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and strengthen the organisation’s risk management framework, including oversight of key risks and mitigation strategies
  • Provide clear risk and compliance advice to support Executive decision-making
  • Oversee compliance with legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements across all service areas (e.g. aged care, NDIS, WHS) 
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organisation is prepared and responsive
  • Provide strategic oversight of audit and assurance activities, driving continuous improvement outcomes
  • Oversee compliance and improvement systems to ensure risks, incidents, and audit findings are effectively managed
  • Deliver high-quality reporting and insights on risk and compliance
  • Support governance frameworks and contribute to organisational strategy
  • Build organisational capability in risk and compliance through guidance and leadership
  • Act as a key liaison with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders

 

Our Ideal Candidate

You are a strategic and influential risk and compliance leader with experience operating in complex, regulated environments. You bring the ability to set direction, provide assurance, and embed strong governance practices across an organisation.

 

You also bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Risk, Law, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior risk or compliance role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks (aged care, disability, WHS, ISO standards)
  • Proven experience overseeing audits, risk frameworks, and compliance systems
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate risk into organisational action
  • Excellent communication skills with experience engaging Executive and Board-level stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and sound judgement
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to influence across all levels
